9th Ramadan 2021

Ramadan day 9 2021

“We dispersed them over the earth in separate communities—some are righteous and some less so: We tested them with blessings and misfortunes, so that they might all return [to righteousness]” Quran 7:168

So that they might all return to righteousness, be it in testing times or blessed times Allah tells us in the Quran to always turn back to Him. In trials we ask for patience and help from him; we trust in his plan and strive to not lose hope in the face of misfortune.

When things get better, as they always eventually do, then again we should turn to him with thankfulness and gratitude for the good times.

“For those who are mindful of God, the Hereafter is better.” 7:169

This cyclical nature of life, with ups and downs, should ideally help us to build patience and gratitude. It’s not always easy but slowly we should come to know the cycle with its highs and lows; and no low should ever feel too low and no high should ever feel too high. Through it all we aim to remember our neediness of God and to be thankful for the blessings he has gifted us.
